Timolol maleate
Indications/Uses
Lowering IOP, chronic open-angle glaucoma & secondary glaucoma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 drop 0.25% soln twice daily. If clinical response is inadequate, dosage may be changed to 1 drop 0.5% soln twice daily.
Contraindications
Bronchial asthma, COPD, sinus bradycardia, 2nd or 3rd degree AV block, cardiogenic shock.
Special Precautions
Cerebrovascular insufficiency. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Ocular irritation, visual disturbance, bradycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, syncope, heart block, CVA, cerebral ischemia. CHF, palpitation, cardiac arrest, bronchospasm in patients w/ preexisting bronchospastic disease, resp failure, dyspnea, hypersensitivity reactions.
Drug Interactions
Other topical ophth β-blockers. Oral β-blockers, Ca-blockers, catecholamine-depleting drugs may produce additive effects.
